Protest Vivisection!
COK Commemorates World Week for Animals in Laboratories

On 24 April 2001, 15 COK activists picketed outside the National Institutes of Health (NIH)—the nation's largest funder of vivisection—to commemorate World Week for Animals in Laboratories. Each year, tens of millions of animals are subjected to excruciating experiments simply to satisfy scientific curiosity. For good reason, we no longer allow research on involuntary human subjects (although that would certainly provide better scientific data than animal research), yet we still force countless nonhuman animals to endure physical pain, psychological suffering, and death—all in the name of "progress." By protesting at NIH, activists take a stand against the arrogant notion of human supremacy.
