COK Protests at the U.S. Capitol

In celebration of World Farmed Animals Day, COK activists took the animals' message to the U.S. Capitol. Holding a banner reading: POLITICIANS: Stop Ignoring Animal Cruelty. Abolish Factory Farming!, picketing, and distributing pro-vegan literature, activists held a demonstration at the legislative hub of the nation.

Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary Service Day

After standing on hundreds of picket lines, passing out thousands of free vegan burgers, and distributing tens of thousands of leaflets, some activists can suffer from burn-out and forget what it was that originally led them to embrace the lifestyle of an animal rights activist. Seeing the animal victims of human-caused exploitation often radicalizes us as well as refreshes our energy and commitment to furthering the movement.

As such, COK and the Vegetarian Society of D.C. co-sponsored an Oct. 21, 2000 service day and vegan potluck at the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville, Md. More than 30 local activists took a week off from protesting and spent the day cleaning barns, feeding rescued animals, and relaxing in the company of those on whose behalf the movement is waged.

Support COK's Pro Bono Attorney

COK activists constantly face many legal issues requiring countless hours of litigation, filing, and research. Sean Day, COK's dedicated, pro bono, vegan, activist/attorney, regularly handles several criminal and civil cases for us. While he volunteers his time and legal expertise, court filing fees and funds needed to acquire other necessary tools for strong cases are piling up.

Support COK's pro bono attorney! All donations will go directly into legal costs attributable to actions for animal liberation, and nothing else.

To make a donation to Sean to help him with COK-related legal matters, please send a check or money order (made payable to SEAN R. DAY, ESQ.) to:
