Free Vegan Ice Cream Tasting & Animal Charity Benefit at Asylum in Washington, D.C.

March 18, 2008

Washington, DC—Your chance to feast on D.C.'s most popular vegan pub grub while indulging in free vegan ice cream has finally arrived—and just in time to celebrate the beginning of spring!

Boston-based Wheeler's Black Label Vegan Ice Cream is making its D.C. premiere by teaming up with Asylum for a one-of-a-kind ice cream tasting and benefit bash on Saturday, March 22, 2008.

Invite your friends and family to enjoy delicious vegan brunch & pub grub anytime from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.—and 10% of the day's sales from Asylum's extensive vegan menu will be donated to Compassion Over Killing, a Washington, D.C.-based animal advocacy charity.

Plus, come anytime between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for free samples of Wheeler's Black Label Vegan Ice Cream!

Whether it's for our health, the environment, or animals, a growing number of people from coast to coast, including here in our nation's capital, are opting for meat-, egg-, and dairy-free foods.

"As vegan fare becomes increasingly available in restaurants and grocery stores everywhere, many consumers are discovering that leaving animals off our plates doesn't mean skimping on flavor," says Erica Meier, executive director of Compassion Over Killing. "Rather it simply means choosing the cruelty-free versions of our favorite foods, and this benefit event offers a fun way for Washingtonians to explore delicious vegan fare."

EVENT: Free vegan ice cream tasting & benefit day
WHERE: Asylum at 2471 18th St., N.W., Washington, D.C.
WHEN: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (free ice cream samples from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. only)
