Speak Out for Chickens During National Chicken Month!

Help expose the painful realities of factory farming

The chicken industry has declared September as National Chicken Month. Each year in the United States, more than 9 billion chickens are raised on factory farms and killed for human consumption—that’s nearly 1 million deaths every single hour. With virtually no laws to protect them, these smart and social birds have been relegated by the industry to serve as mere meat-producing machines.

National Chicken Month offers a great opportunity to help shed light on the chicken industry’s cruel—yet standard—practices and to encourage people to choose compassion by choosing vegetarian foods.

45 Days: The Life and Death of a Broiler Chicken

Most consumers are unaware of the horrific conditions forced upon chickens raised for food, known as “broilers” in the industry.

COK’s 12-minute documentary, 45 Days: The Life and Death of a Broiler Chicken, exposes the miseries endured by factory-farmed chickens and the industry’s blatant disregard for animal welfare. The video features investigative footage—from hatching and factory-farm life to slaughter and packaging.
