March 26: Change of Heart Presentation by Nick Cooney
On Sat., March 26, COK welcomed author and founder of the Humane League, Nick Cooney, to discuss his recent book, Change of Heart: What Psychology Can Teach Us About Spreading Social Change.
Over 50 people joined us at our Takoma Park office to learn about the psychological research that Nick used as the foundation of this book to offer some explanations about why we hold certain beliefs and what motivates us to change. He shared case studies and offered practical tips aimed at helping animal advocates become more effective in bringing about positive and meaningful changes. His incredibly informative presentation was followed by an engaging Q&A session.
