January 15: COK Hands Out Free Vegan Food to Promote a Compassionate New Year
On Sat., Jan. 15, several Compassion Over Killing volunteers gathered outside of McDonald’s in West Hollywood to give away free vegan breakfast sandwiches to encourage consumers to make a compassionate New Year’s resolution and choose vegan foods in 2011.
Hitting the busy fast-food breakfast rush on Saturday morning, COK delighted passersby with delicious samples of vegan “egg mcmuffins” (with “sausage,” “egg,” and “cheese” ), plus soymilk. With each sample of food, we also handed out our pro-veg literature, including our Vegetarian Starter Guide and Easy Vegan Recipes.
