Veggie Dog Feed-In for National Veggie Hot Dog Month (July 1, 2010)

On Thursday, July 1, Compassion Over Killing kicked off National Veggie Hot Dog Month by hosting a veggie dog feed-in in the nation’s capital. Dishing out more than 150 veggie dogs in less than an hour, our volunteers reached out to DC tourists and commuters, showing them that cruelty-free eating is not only easy but delicious as well. We distributed 1,000 pieces of pro-vegetarian literature, including our newly-released 14th edition of the Vegetarian Guide to DC and Surrounding Areas.

We were inundated with positive feedback during the feed-in. Passersby were astonished to realize that the veggie dogs they ate were just as delicious as the hot dogs they are used to and happily took a Vegetarian Starter Guide and a Pork: Another Cruel Meat flyer to learn more.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and VegFund who helped make this a successful event!
