Tabling at Baltimore Pride Festival

On Sunday, June 20, 2010, nearly a dozen Compassion Over Killing volunteers hosted an educational booth at the 35th annual Baltimore Pride Festival, Maryland’s largest LGBT event, spreading an important message of compassion to thousands of people.

During this popular day-long event, we distributed over 3,000 pieces of our pro-veg literature, including our Vegetarian Guide to Baltimore and Surrounding Areas. In addition to handing out literature, COK volunteers gave away 300 Primal Strips, a savory vegan jerky alternative! The vegan snacks, generously provided through VegFund, were such a hit that several people came back wanting seconds or to try a different flavor.

We couldn't have reached this open-minded crowd without the help of our volunteers—thank you all for your help and dedication!

A festival attendee stops to sign up to get more information about our events while volunteers Elise and Leslie give them more information about COK.

Even local police officers couldn't resist the temptation to try some vegan Primal Strips.
