Vegan Bake Sale in Takoma Park, MD (April 25, 2010)
On Sunday, April 25, in the heart of downtown Takoma Park during the busy farmers market, Compassion Over Killing set up a table fully-loaded with delightful desserts including Sweet Cornbread, Apple Spice Bars, Chocolate Chip Whiskey Pie, and even vegan German Chocolate Cupcakes! All of the sweets were homemade thanks to our amazing volunteers, and all of the proceeds from this event went toward COK’s farmed animal advocacy efforts. In addition to introducing people to vegan eating by tempting them with decadent treats, we distributed our Easy Vegan Recipes, Eating Sustainably, and Vegetarian Starter Guide brochures and signed people up for Maryland VegWeek.
Thank you to everyone who baked and volunteered at the event, hosted in honor of the Worldwide Vegan Bakesale!
