COK’s Meatless Makeovers Cooking Class (January 23, 2010)
On Saturday, January 23, 2010, Compassion Over Killing hosted our first in-house vegan cooking class! Mimi Clark, of Veggie Gourmet, generously donated her time and fabulous abilities to teach 20 eager students how to craft their own Meatless Makeovers at COK’s new office.
From Sweet and Sour Meatballs to Chicken a la King, Mimi showed her audience how easy it is to create delicious animal-friendly versions of some of our favorite classic American dishes. Ranging from vegans to the veg-curious, attendees learned new tricks and about some of Mimi’s favorite products. After the hour long class was over, students mingled and shared what they had learned from the class. Several non-vegetarians said they will implement tips from the class in their everyday recipes.
All attendees received a COK gift bag filled with recipes, coupons, and other treats. This class received such interest and positive feedback, COK is considering hosting more cooking classes—so stay tuned! And don’t forget to check out other COK events!
