Feed-In with the Silver Spring Fractured Prune (December 22, 2009)
On the morning of December 22, 2009, Compassion Over Killing hosted the last feed-in of the year to share the holiday spirit with our entire office building! Earlier that month, COK worked with the Fractured Prune in Silver Spring, MD to introduce a whole new vegan menu—including donuts, and to celebrate, we wanted our neighbors to give it a try! We set up in our building's lobby, and as people arrived for work, they were pleasantly surprised to receive free vegan donuts, bagels with flavored vegan cream cheese, and coffee with soy creamer! Our neighbors were excited to try the vegan donuts, and one person even smiled and said, "I wouldn't have even known these were vegan!" Everyone who feasted on our free breakfast also received a copy of both our Vegetarian Guide to DC and Easy Vegan Recipes booklet.
