Tabling at the Green Festival (October 10-11, 2009)

On October 10 and 11, 2009, Compassion Over Killing tabled at the Green Festival in Washington, DC. Attended by thousands of eco-conscious people, the Green Festival provided the perfect location to highlight the connection between eating animals and environmental degradation. With the help of many wonderful volunteers, we distributed nearly 3,000 pieces of our pro-vegetarian literature!

Countless people also viewed our undercover video exposing animal cruelty at Michael Foods, a company that supplies eggs to Dunkin Donuts. In addition to the video playing, our table display included an actual battery cage, which sparked many questions and conversations about the horrors of egg production. After discovering the miserable lives forced upon laying hens and seeing where Dunkin Donuts' eggs are coming from, one young man stood there speechless for several moments, then walked over and touched the battery cage commenting that he had no idea hens were kept this way. He thanked us for sharing this information with him and others.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who made this such a successful event!
