Tabling at the Takoma Park Street Festival (October 4, 2009)

On Sunday, October 4, 2009, Compassion Over Killing's volunteers enjoyed the warm sun while tabling at the Takoma Park Street Festival. Located directly across from one of the music stages, we were in a prime location for outreach. We handed out over 1200 pieces of our pro-vegetarian literature and talked with many festival-goers about our newest campaign, Dunkin' Cruelty.

One mother took a piece of all of our literature. She told us that her young daughter won't eat animals, so she's learning how to cook animal-friendly meals for her entire family.

Thank you to everyone who made this a successful event!

COK's Office Manager, Francesca Valente, hands out an Eating Sustainably pamphlet to a resident of the eco-conscious Takoma Park.
Volunteers answer questions on how to transition to a more compassionate diet.
Our volunteer poses for the camera between helping festival goers!
COK's Executive Director, Erica Meier, gives passersby the incredibly popular Easy Vegan Recipes booklet.
