Leafleting with COK (September 2009)

During the month of September, COK volunteers hit the streets in D.C., L.A., and Portland, handing out all of our favorite pro-veg literature. We distributed thousands of pieces of the Vegetarian Starter Guide and Easy Vegan Recipes in front of grocery stores, graduate fairs, and festivals.

One of our volunteers, Brian, told us this inspiring story from leafleting:

"After about 30 min, a young man who was waiting for his ride approached us and asked if he could have a portion of what we were handing out. My assumption was that he had friends who would be interested in learning more about going vegan, so I gave him some info to take away (or so I thought). But to our surprise, he set up in a spot between Paul and me and started leafleting with us. He appeared to enjoy it, so I asked him if he was veg, to which he replied 'Not yet, but I'm getting there.' A new activist and herbivore at the same time."
