Leafleting with COK (July 2009)

Thank you to all of COK's volunteers who helped make July an amazingly successful month for outreach! Throughout July, COK volunteers and staff pervaded parades, metro stations, and concerts—handing out thousands of pieces of literature, including our Vegetarian Starter Guide, Easy Vegan Recipes and Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.

While leafleting at a metro station, one of our volunteers told us that a woman who originally turned down the offer for a free Guide to Washington, D.C. paused after walking by, came back and said "I'm sorry, I didn't realize this was information about vegetarian eating. I would actually love to take one of everything you're giving out; this is exactly the type of information I've been looking for!" The woman continued to explain that she's been thinking about becoming a vegetarian but wasn't sure how to make the switch—until now!
