June 21, 2009: COK’s Vegan Bake Sale is a Hit!
On Sunday, June 21, COK hosted a vegan bake sale, in honor of the first annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, during the Takoma Park farmers market. With the help of 15 volunteer bakers, we offered delicious homemade, animal-friendly treats along with pro-veg literature and recipes to encourage people to explore vegan baking at home—and the feedback was phenomenal! Over 400 items were sold, and all of the proceeds will help COK’s farmed animal advocacy efforts.
Thank you to everyone who shared their baking expertise and volunteered at the event. Below are a few photos from the bake sale.
