Presentation with Bruce Friedrich at the Mt. Pleasant Library in Washington, DC

On Monday, June 8, COK hosted a presentation by Bruce Friedrich, VP of PETA’s Policy and Governmental Affairs at the Mt. Pleasant Library in Washington, DC. After filling up on a free vegan dinner of spaghetti, salad, and desserts from Sticky Fingers Bakery, the audience of activists settled in to learn how to become effective advocates. Mr. Friedrich kept the audience of 50 captivated with his humor and knowledge. Basing his speech on The Animal Activist’s Handbook, his newly-released co-authored book, Mr. Friedrich offered his top ten insights that he has gained through advocating for over 20 years.

Thanks to everyone who came out to this fun and informative presentation!

The Animal Activist Handbook offers great tips for new and continuing activists.
Friedrich poses in his favorite activist t-shirt: “Ask me why I’m vegetarian.”
