Earth Day, April 22, 2009: Vegan Day at Bread & Brew

After working with Compassion Over Killing (COK) to expand its vegan menu, Bread & Brew, a D.C. eatery, celebrated Earth Day by serving only vegan food on April 22--and donating 10% of the day's sales to help us continue helping animals. Each day, Chef Euguene creates a new French-inspired menu at this recently-opened Certified Green Restaurant. With animal-friendly omelets, quiche, sandwiches, soups and lasagna (with house-made soy cheese), the vegan day celebration was an opportunity for people to try mouth-watering, earth,- and animal-friendly foods. The evening drew in additional crowds who came for food and DC Vegan Drinks.

Thank you to everyone for supporting COK and the all-new vegan menu at Bread & Brew!

The vegan day celebration doubled as a benefit day for COK.
The food was fantastic! Hand cut french fries with vegan aioli, lasagna, frittata, and pizza.

The house was packed!
Bread & Brew owner Teri Van Goethem, Chef Eugene Ngono, and other staff worked tirelessly behind the counter.
