April 8, 2009: Free Vegan Dinner & a Movie at American University in D.C.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2009, Compassion Over Killing teamed up with the student-run Community Action & Social Justice Coalition to host a free vegan dinner and screening of A Delicate Balance at American University. It was a fantastic event with over 60 people in attendance, including the film’s producer and director, Aaron Scheibner.

The event kicked-off with a free dinner, including mac uncheese, orange “beef” with vegetables, and chocolate chip cookies.

People eagerly lined up for the vegan fare, which was in part provided by VegFund.org

More than 60 people came out for this dinner and a movie event.

In addition to sampling vegan cuisine, people picked up COK’s pro-veg literature.

The room was filled to capacity as the movie began.

Aaron Scheibner, the film’s producer and director, happily answered many questions after the screening.
