Vegan Feed-In on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: January 19, 2009

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, COK hosted a vegan feed-in at the Gallery Place Metro station in downtown D.C. Volunteers from as far as Illinois and North Carolina served 300 pieces of orange “chicken” to passersby and distributed more than 375 pieces of pro-vegetarian literature, including COK's  Vegetarian Starter Guide, Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas and Easy Vegan Recipe.

Thank you to everyone that volunteered—we couldn't do it without you!

Below are photos from the day's event.

A TryVeg.com banner caught the public’s attention and welcomed people to try our free food!
Volunteers answered many questions about vegetarian eating.
