Vegan Feed-In in Honor of National Chicken Month: September 14, 2008

On Sunday, September 14, 2008, over a dozen volunteers hosted COK's monthly feed-in, in honor of National Chicken Month, at the 30th annual Adams Morgan Day Street Festival in Washington, D.C. Over 250 samples of orange "chicken" were sampled by festival attendees and 1,000 pieces of  pro-vegetarian literature were distributed, including our Vegetarian Starter Guide, Easy Vegan Recipes  and Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.

Below are photos from the day's event.

Thank you to everyone that volunteered to help us help animals!

A banner drew attention to the “Free Vegetarian Food.”
Festival-goers were excited to try the delicious orange “chicken” and receive a copy of the Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.
Two feed-in sites met the demand of the large crowd.
People are encouraged to visit TryVeg.com and learn more about vegetarian eating.
With orange “chicken” and literature in hand, volunteers are ready to promote compassionate eating choices.
Volunteers answered questions about how to transition to a compassionate diet.
