Tabling at the Capital Pride Festival in D.C., June 15, 2008

On Sunday, June 15th, COK, along with a dozen volunteers, set up an educational display at the 33rd annual Capital Pride Festival held in Washington, D.C. where we served hundreds of free orange "chicken" samples and distributed more than 2,700 pieces of pro-vegetarian literature, including our Vegetarian Starter Guide, Easy Vegan Recipes and the summer 2008 edition of our Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas. The event was a huge success!

At COK's booth, we displayed our TryVeg.com banner, which attracted festival-goers to our literature and free food samples.

Several volunteers also reached out to the crowds by leafleting and encouraging them to stop by our booth for more information.

Our booth was busy throughout the day with volunteers answering countless questions about factory farming and vegetarian eating.

It wasn't easy keeping up with the demand for the delicious orange “chicken” samples.

After sampling the “chicken,” many people, including this woman, wanted to learn more about transitioning to a vegetarian diet.

Passersby were excited to receive a free Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.
