Vegan Feed-In: May 4, 2008

To celebrate International Respect for Chickens Day, Compassion Over Killing hosted a feed-in on Sunday, May 4 at the newly constructed Nationals Park where the Washington Nationals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-2! Baseball fans sampled 130 pieces of orange "chicken," and 550 pieces of pro-veg literature were distributed.

Below are some photos from the day’s event.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make our monthly feed-in a huge success!

With the help of a baseball fan who was inspired by our event, a banner was held outside the stadium entrance attracting people to our free food samples.
Sports fans of all ages stopped by to taste the orange “chicken.”
Volunteers distributed our Vegetarian Guide to D.C. as well as our Vegetarian Starter Guide.
Hundreds of people took our vegetarian literature on their way to the game.
After sampling the “chicken,” several people stopped to read our materials to learn more about vegetarian eating.
