Tabling at Tastes of Takoma, April 13, 2008
On Sunday, April 13, 2008 COK set up an educational table at the Tastes of
Takoma event at Columbia Union College. This annual festival features area restaurants,
community organizations, and local music and entertainment. In addition to distributing
pro-vegetarian literature, including COK's Vegetarian Starter Guide and
Easy Vegan Recipes, volunteers offered festival-goers free samples of
orange "chicken" and "beef" jerky as well talked with dozens
of people about the many benefits of vegetarian eating.
