Tabling at the NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo, January 12-13, 2008

The weekend of Jan. 12th, COK, with the help of over a dozen volunteers, tabled at the 15th annual NBC4 Health & Fitness Expo at the Washington Convention Center. This year’s expo attracted over 85,000 attendees, a number of whom were eager to learn more about vegetarian eating and factory farming issues. Throughout the weekend volunteers distributed 5,200 pieces of literature, including COK’s Vegetarian Starter Guide, Easy Vegan Recipes and Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.

People took multiple copies of the pro-vegetarian literature to give to friends and family.

Hundreds of people visited our table asking where to find delicious vegetarian fare, making our Guide to D.C. a huge hit.

These sisters were excited to learn about all of the cruelty-free foods available to them.

Volunteers answered questions about how to transition to a vegetarian diet.
