We've partnered with Lucy the Poodle Productions to bring SXSW to you! Meet fellow vegans, vegetarians and veg-curious as we socialize over a few drinks and enjoy live music from several indie bands such as Anni Rossi, Agent Ribbons, Daniel Fracis Doyle, and more!

Dunkin' Cruelty Vegan Feed-In in New York City

Compassion Over Killing is teaming up with Mercy for Animals and the Animal Protection & Rescue League for a vegan feed-in outside of a downtown New York City Dunkin' Donuts location! We'll be handing out free samples of vegan donuts while urging people to ask Dunkin' Donuts to offer egg- and dairy-free donuts!

In addition to serving free vegan food, we'll also be distributing literature about our Dunkin' Cruelty campaign. What a great way to encourage the transition to a compassionate diet while calling for vegan options at the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain! Please join us!

Join Compassion Over Killing on Fri., Mar. 19 for a special SXSW vegan bake sale in honor of Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale!

From 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. we'll be selling homemade vegan baked goods to SXSW convention-goers, giving out free samples, and handing out our Vegetarian Starter Guide and Easy Vegan Recipes booklets. What better way to encourage people to explore vegetarian eating than offering free samples of delicious animal-friendly fare and vegan items they can take home?

You're invited! Support COK while enjoying delicious cruelty-free fare and socializing with other activists! Please join us at the monthly Java Green funding day on the third Saturday of every month, when a portion of your bill will benefit COK.

Java Green offers a delicious variety of vegan sandwiches, salads and soups, in addition to tea and coffee drinks and fabulous desserts. The "Chicken" Java and Veg Max sandwiches are favorites.

After lunch, we'll head to the Hermosa Beach Pier for a vegan feed-in in honor of MeatOut.

Vegan Feed-In in honor of Meatout

COK will be hosting a vegan feed-in during this year's Environmental Film Festival in honor of Meatout. The festival explores the connection between food and the environment, so please join us after the film "Seed of Hunger," which examines the issues involved in creating food shortages, as we hand out free pieces of vegetarian food to help make sure film attendees remember that a vegetarian diet is also the most efficient diet.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Animal Law Symposium

The first-ever Mid-Atlantic Regional Animal Law Symposium, held at the Univ. of Baltimore School of Law, will address a wide range of topics related to the legal condition and welfare of animals in the region. Speakers include COK's General Counsel Cheryl Leahy, Maryland State Senator Jamie Raskin, and Washington, D.C.'s Former Assistant Attorney General Wendy Weinberg. Food will be provided: vegan breakfast generously donated by the Yabba Pot (served at 8:15am) and lunch features a variety of vegan options from Great Sage, Brick Oven Pizza, and Land of Kush.

On Apr. 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 20% of your bill (plus 100% of tips earned by our enthusiastic bartender) will automatically be donated towards our efforts to help farmed animals. And after working with COK, Pizzazz has added an new, expanded vegan menu! Drink specials will include $5 martinis and two-for-one drinks.

Mark your calendars and join Team COK for Poplar Spring's annual 5k run/1 mile walk coming up on Sun., May 23. Last year, Team COK came in 5th, and this year, we're aiming for first place! Although dogs cannot participate in the run, they are more than welcome to come out and join the 1 mile walk. The 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk will happen rain or shine.
