Leafleting at the Independence Day Parade

Join COK this fourth of July for leafleting at the Independence Day Parade in honor of National Veggie Hot Dog Month. We’ll be educating some of the hundreds of thousands of spectators on how to transition to an animal-friendly diet by distributing our Vegetarian Starter Guide and Easy Vegan Recipes. We’ll be meeting outside of the Federal Triangle Metro station.

Bread & Brew: Special Vegan Brunch & Movie Sunday Benefiting COK

Join us at Bread & Brew on Sunday, July 5 for a food- and fun-filled benefit event featuring a special COK Day vegan brunch menu, plus two movies: “The Princess Bride” and “Ten Things I Hate about You.” This event kicks-off Bread & Brew’s new “Brunch & Movie Sundays”—and 10% of your vegan brunch bill will be automatically donated towards our farmed animal advocacy work! Be sure to invite your friends and family.

Brunch is served from 9:00am to 4:00pm; movies start at 11:00am.

Vegetarian Summerfest

Join COK at the 35th annual Vegetarian Summerfest Conference at the University of Pittsburgh campus at Johnstown, Pennsylvania. You’ll get a chance to meet like-minded people, enjoy delicious vegan meals, and attend educational workshops featuring more than 50 speakers, including COK’s Erica Meier as well as Dr. Michael Greger from the Humane Society of the United States and Stephen Kaufman from the Christian Vegetarian Association.

Vegan Feed-In in honor of National Veggie Hot Dog Month

What better way to encourage people to explore vegetarian eating than offering free samples of delicious animal-friendly fare? That's why COK is hosting a vegan feed-in outside of the Verizon Center before the Jonas Brothers concert. In addition to serving free vegan food, we'll also be distributing literature, including our Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas and Vegetarian Starter Guide. Please join us!

COK Benefit at Sticky Fingers Bakery

Want to satisfy your sweet tooth and help us help animals at the same time? Now’s your chance! Join us at the all-vegan, awarding-winning Sticky Fingers Bakery on the second Tuesday of each month. Sticky Fingers offers mouth-watering food for any time of day. Try a bagelwich breakfast sandwich, lasagna or their famous sticky bun and a portion of your bill will be automatically donated towards COK’s efforts to help farmed animals.

Animal Rights 2009

Animal Rights 2009 is a forum for sharing experience, reporting on progress, discussing tactics, networking and "recharging our batteries." Meet fellow activists at the four-day conference featuring nearly 100 presenters from more than 60 organizations and nine countries. Speakers include COK’s Erica Meier and Cheryl Leahy as well as Jon Camp from Vegan Outreach and Nathan Runkle from Mercy for Animals.

COK Benefit at Java Green

You're invited! Support COK while enjoying delicious cruelty-free fare and socializing with other activists! Please join us at the monthly Java Green funding day on the third Saturday of every month, when a portion of your bill will benefit COK.

Java Green offers a delicious variety of vegan sandwiches, salads and soups, in addition to tea and coffee drinks and fabulous desserts. The “Chicken” Java and Veg Max sandwiches are favorites.
