The DC VegFest is a FREE outdoor festival celebrating the very best of everything vegetarian in and around the nation's capital. There are so many reasons to choose a vegetarian diet—for our health, the planet, and animals—and Washington, D.C. offers wonderful opportunities to explore meatless cuisine.

The DC VegFest has something for everyone to enjoy, so be sure to bring along your friends and family!

Washington, DC: Leafleting at the Adams Morgan Day Festival

Join COK for leafleting at the 32nd Annual Adams Morgan Day Festival. The festival celebrates one of Washington's most diverse neighborhoods and is a fantastic outreach venue, attracting over 25,000 attendees last year.

We'll be distributing our free pro-vegetarian literature. Please help us educate the crowd on the many benefits of vegetarian eating.

Join Compassion Over Killing for a benefit event at Cafe Green! To celebrate Java Green's new all-vegan eatery, Cafe Green, we're switching the monthly benefit from Java Green to Cafe Green for the rest of 2010. Please join us on the third Wednesday of every month to support COK while enjoying delicious cruelty-free fare and socializing with other activists! From 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 15, mention Compassion Over Killing and a portion of your bill will go toward our farmed animal advocacy efforts.

In honor of National Chicken Month, COK will be hosting a feed-in at the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. We will meet festival-goers on the National Mall with chick'n strips and our pro-veg literature.

Help us educate these bookworms about the benefits of a vegetarian diet by giving them some more literature to read!
