Thanks for showcasing the vegan way of life

Thank you for showcasing the growing popularity of vegetarian and vegan fare in Gainesville ("Gainesville area has plenty of options for growing number of vegetarians," Aug. 3).

The success of Veg4Life potlucks and local vegetarian restaurants like Karma Cream and The Green Mango speaks to the increasing popularity of plant-based foods.

When we eat vegan, we know we're not ingesting cholesterol and we're not causing suffering to factory-farmed pigs, dairy cows, or egg-laying hens. Who knew reducing cruelty could taste this good?
