Mislabeled vegan food unacceptable

The Red and Black
October 1, 2009

As a former member of the meal plan and vegan, I was shocked to read Justin Crews' article ("Mislabeled dining hall food cause vegans to drop the meal plan," September 29). The UGA dining service has continuously overlooked the demand for plant-based foods, but now it's showing its complete disregard for it.

In spite of the economy, the interest in vegan products is growing as people become aware of the negative impact raising animals for food has on our health, the environment, and animals.

It is the dining services responsibility to meet the demands of the students. While they continue to give poor excuses for their neglect, check out TryVeg.com for tips on" Vegan Eatin' on a Budget."
