Eat your hearts out, carnivores
The Washington Times September 11, 2009
Thank you for the article "Vegan explains lifestyle" (Plugged in, Living, Wednesday). Veganism is growing more popular in our society today, and I believe that for it to thrive veganism should start at a young age. Young children are more open-minded than adults when it comes to new ideas.
Karen Goldberg Goff did a wonderful job explaining the abuse of animals in the agricultural industry. Rather than sugarcoat the information, she tells the sad stories of what animals go through when people choose to eat meat. Vegan parents will have a better way of explaining animal abuse to their children now that this book, "That's Why We Don't Eat Animals," has been published. Hopefully young children will find the book as enlightening, colorful and fun as I did.
