Vegetarianism is Possible in Dekalb
Northern Star
February 1, 2009
Thank you for Bri Julius’ Jan. 21 article “Vegetarian foods easier to come by in DeKalb than ever.” It’s true that finding meat-free foods has never been easier, compared to even just five years ago, when I became vegan while at the University of Georgia.
A growing number of people are opting to leave meat off their plates as they learn about the cruelty and environmental degradation involved in raising and killing animals for food.
Today, choosing a compassionate lifestyle doesn’t mean forgoing your favorite foods.
Restaurants, grocery stores and campus dining halls across the country are answering the call for healthier, animal-friendly options. Check out www.TryVeg.com for free recipes and meal ideas, including the popular feature ”Vegan Eating on a Budget.”
