Efforts to Expose Cruelty Lauded

I am pleased that animal advocacy group Compassion Over Killing (COK) has prevailed in its case regarding United Egg Producers' misleading "Animal Care Certified" label ("Egg producers agree on new logo" by Meredith Cohn, Oct. 6). I applaud COK for working to expose the cruel treatment and inhumane conditions endured by animals who are raised for food.

It's because of animals' suffering that an ever-growing number of people are adopting a vegetarian diet.

And with an ever-expanding array of cruelty-free alternatives to meat, eggs and dairy products, it has never been easier for consumers to make this compassionate choice.
