Internship Opportunities at COK
Join Compassion Over Killing’s efforts to help make the world a kinder place by interning with us at our offices in either the Washington, D.C.-area or Los Angeles, CA! Interning at COK is a terrific way to get hands-on experience, as an advocate
for the animals, in a nonprofit setting. We're currently accepting applications for:
Details for the internship positions are below.
Outreach Internship Program
All internships are based in COK's offices in Takoma Park, Md., or Torrance, Ca. Part-time internships must be at least 15 hours a week; full-time internships up to 40 hours a week. Start and end dates are flexible, but internships ideally last a minimum of 8 weeks.
As an intern at COK, you'll have the opportunity to help with:
- Local vegetarian outreach campaigns, including leafleting, tabling, feed-ins, and more
- A variety of online or library research projects
- Creating/brainstorming new campaigns, both locally and nationally
- Writing projects including web content, letters, and opinion pieces
Interns will also help with general office work including fulfilling requests for educational literature. No specific academic background is required, as we are happy to focus intern projects to best meet your skills when available. Internships for school credit or community service are welcomed.
Unfortunately, COK is unable at this time to provide a stipend or other monetary compensation, though costs associated directly with work (i.e. Metro fare for attending COK events) will be covered as needed. COK is also not able to provide housing, though we may be able to assist in locating affordable, possibly even free, temporary housing upon request.

Our office is located two blocks from the Takoma Metro station on the red line. A stipend is available for Metro fare and
other internship-related expenses. Requests for additional compensation will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
