Reach Out to Restaurants

For more than five years, COK has successfully worked with restaurants in the greater D.C.-area to promote compassionate eating through the creation and/or expansion of delicious animal-friendly menus. Today, more than 400 vegetarian-friendly establishments are now listed on our VegDC.com resource site and in our printed Vegetarian Guide to Washington, D.C. and Surrounding Areas.

Our work to vegetarianize the nation’s capital was even highlighted in the Washington Post this past March! (Check out the full text of “Six Local Hot Spots for Vegan Eats.”)

Encourage restaurants in your area to offer more vegan options! Contact us at info@cok.net or 301-891-2458 for more information.

The popularity and success of VegDC.com—COK’s online resource for finding delicious vegetarian fare in and around the nation’s capital—inspired us to launch a similar site for the City of Roses, where one of COK’s newest staff members resides. VegPortland.com provides a quick and convenient way to locate veg-friendly establishments in Oregon’s largest city!

Organize a Feed-In

The best way to win people’s hearts is through their stomachs. By offering free samples of meat-, egg-, and dairy-free products, we can show vegetarians-to-be that eating animal-friendly fare doesn’t mean giving up the tastes we love—rather it means choosing the cruelty-free versions of our favorite foods.

Putting together a feed-in is easy! Visit COK’s Guide to Organizing Feed-Ins or contact us at info@cok.net or 301-891-2458 for more information.

Action Tip:

Leafleting is one of the most effective and cost-efficient ways to spread the animals’ message. COK shares tens of thousands of our Vegetarian Starter Guide magazines, Easy Vegan Recipes booklets, and Vegetarian Eating brochures with activists nationwide to distribute on college campuses, at community tabling events, or outside busy subway stations.

Hit the streets in your city with COK’s pro-vegetarian literature! Visit COK’s online marketplace for a list of our materials.
